The street lighting on Bloor St. E. is poorly lit and potentially dangerous.
For the last several years BENA has been working towards the improvement of the pedestrian lighting from where the Bloor Street Transformation Project starts into Yorkville where many of our residents walk at night. This spans back to the days of the previous Councillor for Ward 27.
We have spent years getting “someone else’s problem not mine” from both the Bloor/Yorkville BIA and Toronto Hydro (Toronto Hydro – meets minimum highway standards).
We have recently learned that in the legislation to create Toronto Hydro, pedestrian lighting was left in limbo with no one having responsibly!
Who has the legislative power to change this anomaly and whom do they recommend should have responsibility for both setting standards for pedestrian lighting and providing adequate lighting within the standards set?
Do you have any issues with street lighting?
